As we posted earlier this year, shipping costs went way up. This is because shipping companies such as FedEx and UPS started charging a new dimensional weight metric. What used to cost about 12$ to ship FedEx SmartPost to Florida from our warehouse in Oregon has increased to more than 25$.
Because of this change, we have tried to not pass the costs on to the customers as we were really trying to create an affordable product and not have a shipping cost higher than what people expect. This year we will still be using Amazon for many of our shipments due to their low cost shipping capabilities for Prime members, however we will also offer two options to ship sales from LapCozy directly for those who do not have Prime accounts and this way we can pass on savings from utilizing a much smaller box and no Prime service or storage charges.
- Amazon Fulfilled by Merchant (this is shown as sold by other sellers)
- Direct Lap Cozy sales from our secure store.
We are still looking for smaller stores to work with across the country to sell direct to customers and can ship bulk supplies affordably in many cases. If any companies are interested they should reach out to us at info@lapcozy.com.
